Kate beckinsale not in underworld 3?

because the movie is a prequel it explains the beginning of the vampire and lycan war this is way before Kate's character even exists. It think its good I want to see if movie producers can carry a movie without Kate's presence. The movie looks good even though Kate isn't in it.
