How can I find out what kind of chair I have and its age?

I have these chairs thier oversized with short legs they could be victorian or maybe louis IV not sure. They are oak, back is padded w/thin frame, arms are wood w/a partial cover, back of chair has an upsidedown "T" for support, there is 1 matching footstool, seat cousions are removable on chairs.
