Am I a friend or something more?

I met this guy a few weeks ago. We went on a date and within an hour of the date ending he texted me. He's texted me every day since, at least 20 times or more (I respond). We've hung out twice since; one date lasted more than eight hours. Yet, when were together, he never compliments me or asks me questions about myself. He subtly touches me a lot and says he wants to be friends to find out if were compatible. I haven't asked recently, but I find it weird he rarely looks at me, but doesnt stop texting me and bringing up stories that illustrate his relationship deal breakers. He also has a lot of female friends. So...do you think he likes me, wants to be just friends or is playing me (we've made out)? Thanks in advance!
